Pink Is for Blobfish: Discovering the World's Perfectly Pink Animals

Jess Keating (2016), 48 pages
Illustrated by David Degrand
Audience: K - 3rd Grade
Category: Animal, Nonfiction
Add Your Comments | Add to MyBookList | Email Review
The Blobfish is not an attractive animal. Neither is the Pygmy Seahorse. Or the Naked Mole Rat. Looks aside, there is one thing that binds all these creatures together- they are all pink. These seventeen animals are shown in all their rosy-hued glory, from Pink Slug to Pink Fairy Armadillos. The pages are all displayed the same way. On the left, there is a color photograph of the animal. On the right, text is broken up into three parts: At the top is its name plus general information about it. In a yellow speech bubble below, a cartoon of the animal gives interesting trivia facts about it, and a column on the right lists the species name, size, diet, habitat, and predators and threats. This book is a perfect introduction to more unusual animals.
