It was summer and Nick's cats Verne and Stevenson wanted to play when he wanted to read. Nick had a great idea! He could teach Verne and Stevenson to read. At first, they ignored him. Then Verne was interested but Stevenson was grumpy. How could Nick and Verne interest Stevenson in learning to read? Here's a hint: it involves pirates, playacting and trips to the library.

Dexter is a little dog. He is often overlooked, except when Cleevis, the tomcat, demonstrated how he could stand right over Dexter and not even ruffle his fur. Everything is little about Dexter, except for his dreams: Dexter wants to be a superhero. He enthusiastically prepares for the task: exercising, reading, and finding a costume. Almost immediately, Dexter is thrown into the job. When he saves Cleevis, the tomcat, who is stuck in a tree, the two animals form a new partnership with double the brains and triple the muscle.

This book presents many not-so-well-known facts about sharks, in a visually appealing way (one especially creative page has the words going around the shark.) Read this book, and you also will find out how people kill 100 million sharks every year!

T-rex is bored. She has been on display at the Natural History Museum for 99 years. People gasp when they see her; boring. Her own guard is always there and he tells her about his day; boring. Then, she overhears two women talking about going to see a ballet. Ballerinas get to twirl and spring across the stage. She used to leap across the meadow, and tiptoe through clear streams. That's when she decides; she would dance in Swan Lake. And she does!
